Grape Days of Summer on the Placer County Wine Trail - August 6th & 7th

Celebrate PlacerGROWN — local wine, local food, local agriculture! Take a self-guided tour of up to 20 wineries, taste foothill wines and enjoy a unique and educational experience at each stop on the Placer County Wine Trail.

Grape Days of Summer - Activities

Bear River Winery: Bear River will have assorted meat and cheese sandwiches from Bootleggers with chips, crackers, cheese and bottled water. Come see local favorite Dominator playing four sets of acoustic music on Sunday only. We'll be pouring nine wines handcrafted from foothill grown grapes. Interact with the winemakers and take advantage of our trail event discount.
Bonitata Boutique Wine: Bonitata will be serving desserts. We will have cookies from the Foresthill cookie company, Gluten free items from the local New Dawn Bakery, Local truffles infused with wine and locally made flavored truffles. Wines will be 15-25% off.
Cante ao Vinho: Cante will be showcasing award winning wines including chilled whites, a refreshing Rose and a white port along with three crowd favorite reds. Enjoy fresh herbed, blue cheese and salami petite sandwiches, ripe peaches and blueberries, strawberries and watermelon along with some of nature's other harvested indulgences. Local vendors will be offering samples of farm fresh pestos, olive oils, garlic, toffee and hand crafted, natural soaps. Stick around Saturday evening after the event for live music, food truck fare and a good time!
Casque Wines: Casque Wines will be pouring barrel samples of 2015 Syrah from three distinct Sierra Foothills vineyards and pairing them with small bites. Come taste the difference terroir makes in the expression of this noble Rhone grape. The results may surprise you.
Dono dal Cielo Winery: Dono dal Cielo will have live music Saturday and Sunday from 1-4pm. Saturdays live music is by Dominator & Friends - a Ukulele Ensemble performing a wide variety of upbeat arrangements. On Sunday, relax with live music by Jon Pauling whose unique music transcends across to many styles and attracts many people. Susan Stecz will be here selling Silpada and Touchstone Crystal by Swarovski - beautiful Swarovski jewelry. We will be be serving fresh buttery popcorn all weekend.
Fawnridge Winery: Please stop by our air conditioned tasting room to enjoy a Chinese Chicken dish and special pricing on our wines. As always we'll have Jimmy Buffet on our XM radio.
Lone Buffalo Vineyards: Cool down with new releases of 2015 Bison Blanc Viognier and Buffalo Rose Sangiovese on the the white-side along with our standard red program. Then join us for the See, Smell, Sip & Feel program with a sensory tasting of the newly released 2013 Medicine Man Malbec. Pair that or another new release like the 2014 Noblebeast Cabernet Sauvignon with our famous Bison Sliders and your belly and tastebuds will be truly thankful.
Mt. Vernon Winery: Mt. Vernon will have barrel tasting, meatballs and wine sales. Also enjoy a chat with the owners and winemaker.
PaZa Wines: Hans Anderson will be here for live music and we will be serving sample size portions of authentic Italian pasta from Buca Di Beppo.
Pescatore Vineyard & Winery: At Pescatore we will be doing a wine & cheese pairing and serving fish tacos. We will also be selling made to order pizzas.
Popie Wines: Pope Wines will have information and displays on version, as well as small bites from N Good Taste Catering. Cool off with our ice cold Sangria for sale made from our fruity Barbera Rosé while enjoying live music on Saturday from 1-4pm. Don't forget to take advantage of our wine sale!
Rancho Roble Vineyards: Rancho Roble will be providing delicious appetizers complimenting our Estate Barbera. There will also be a live singer/songwriter Kyle Williams making his second appearance at the winery performing on Saturday.
River Rock Ranch Lindemann Winery: River Rock Ranch will have music via radio and education with property tours when requested. Bar-B-Que hot dogs with potato chips and fresh fruit from our orchard with wine from Lindemann Winery served by the glass and soft drinks for kids or non drinkers. All served on our new patio with cabana, enough for 20 people at one seating. Special wines to be tasted include: Rio Danza (rose blend) and Rio Rojo (a 3 varietal blend), also a new Sauvignon Blank fermented in an American Oak barrel.
Secret Ravine Vineyard & Winery: Secret Ravine Vineyards will be serving their recent State Fair Winners plus a few old time favorites, along with refreshing fruits of summer. Crush equipment will be on display. We have plenty of parking and the picnic area is available.
Vina Castellano: Join us to enjoy music from Southpoint and some tasty meat and tapas snack packs!

Rancho Roble , Lone Buffalo, Vina Castellano and PaZa Wineries along with Fork N Road productions invite you to take an interactive sensory perception trip as you meander down the Placer County Wine trail enjoying the Grape Days of Summer. At each of one of these four stops you will receive a card outlining the different sensory experiences of wine tasting. You will explore the Visual, Olfactory, Taste, and Mouthfeel of different wines as you make your way to these four award-winning wineries. See, Smell, Sip and Feel the wines of the Placer County Wine Trail.

(Note: It is not necessary to take the sensory perception tour in order, each stop has a program highlighting the 4 steps to wine evaluation and each stop incorporates tasting - At the end of the tour you will have a take home tool that you can put together that will enhance your future tasting experiences)
