About Us:

We are a small family owned and operated vineyard and winery in Penryn, CA. Our name, Happy Dayz, is a tribute to Jacque’s grandfather, Frank Aguilar, who started farming on the property in the 1940’s. He would raise a glass and say “Cheers to Happy Dayz!” Rick and Jacque continue the family farming tradition as the 4th generation to farm in Placer County. In the vineyard we follow sustainable farming practices and the vines are cared for by hand from the pruning to the harvest. The warm days and cool nights in our little foothills town of Penryn are perfect for growing grapes. The vineyard consists of Malbec, Nebbiolo, Tempranillo, and Roussanne varietals and is a true labor of love. Have you ever wanted to harvest grapes? Open on select weekends only, Our outdoor hilltop tasting area invites you to kick back, enjoy a glass of wine and take in the beautiful views of the Valley. Find a place in the shade to kick up your feet on a barrel as you are surrounded by evergreen mandarin trees. The property is well known by many locals as their mandarin destination during the winter months, Mandarin Hill Orchards.
