Visit Placer County Guide

Whether you’re looking for something to eat or just something else fun to do on your wine country adventure, the Placer County Wine Trail has it all . . . and then some!

BYO Picnics & Farm-to-Table Dining

Don’t go hungry! Pack your own picnic or order a wine country picnic basket from a local restaurant. Want something more formal? Start with lunch/brunch or end with dinner at any one of our fine restaurants listed inside who pride themselves on using locally sourced meat, poultry and produce.

Check out the Historic Fruit Shed Districts

Placer County was once known as the “Nation’s Fruitbasket” — railroads shipped tons of fruit all over the U.S. Our historic fruit-packing districts in Loomis & Newcastle are now home to art galleries, nurseries, gourmet markets, restaurants & more!

Art Studios Tours

Our small towns, scenic trails and stunning recreation areas are a natural habitat for artists, who find inspiration in our vistas and farms. With six art studios tours throughout the year, wine and art go hand-in-hand with a plethora of opportunities to visit artists in their working studios along the wine trail.

Visit a Craft Brewery

Wineries are now sharing the trail with unique craft breweries in rural Lincoln and the cities of Auburn, Loomis and Rocklin.

Stop at a Farm Stand

Placer County is home to numerous family farms. Visit a Farmers Market or pick up fresh-picked, local fruits and vegetables at various farm stands and local working ranches along the trail.

Hike, Bike, Ride - Hidden Falls Regional Park

Get in a hike and the great outdoors, then hit the wine trail! Enjoy 1200 acres of open space and 30 miles of trails for hiking, running, biking and horseback riding.
